  1. 2008 Pictures

2008 10-24 Skyline Drive Fall

Late October, Dad, Jon and I took a day off and forced ourselves out of bed way before sunrise to go look at some dead leaves in the mountains. There was plenty of fog, clouds, and 38 degree temperatures which made the scenic overlooks a little less than scenic for the most part so we spent most of the day hiking along a few trails and almost getting lost. I took a picture of just about everything and narrowed it down to these. Dad got some great shots too.

  • There weren't many cars on the road because of the weather, so I was able to run out in the middle and get plenty of shots like this. The leaves were perfect

  • At lunch time the temperature remained at 38 degrees which was a little uncomfortable for a picnic, so I did the next best thing and drove up to the picnic area where we indulged in gourmet sandwiches and Cheez-Its from inside the Jeep. If you look closely you can see Jon waving from the back seat.
